What we store

What we keep depends on what you do on the site:

• An order: your name, email address, any pickup note you leave, your items, and your pickup date and time window.
• A custom order request: your name and email, the occasion, size, flavor, date, and anything you tell us about what you have in mind, plus the quote we send back.
• A message through the contact form: your name, email address, and the message.
• A review: see "Reviews" below.

We don't collect a phone number, we don't track your browsing, we don't sell anything about you, and we don't build a customer profile.

Why we need it

The name is how we find your order at pickup. The email is where your confirmation, receipt and any quote go, and how we reply to you. Payment is handled by Stripe — card details never touch our servers, and Stripe's own privacy policy covers that part.

Who handles it for us

We use a small number of services to run the shop: Stripe (payments), Turso (our database), Vercel (hosting and image storage), and Resend (the confirmation and quote emails we send you). Order alerts to the baker are sent through a private notification service and contain order numbers and amounts, not your name or email.

How long we keep it

90 days after your pickup date, we automatically remove your name and email, your notes, and the details of any custom request from our records. We keep only the order number, items and amounts, because we need those for our books. Contact-form messages are deleted 90 days after you send them.

You can also ask us to delete your information sooner — emailhello@mississippimakes.shop from the address you used, and we'll remove it, including any reviews you wrote.

Reviews

When you submit a review we store your name, email address, star rating, and review text. A real person — the baker — reads every review before it's published; nothing goes live automatically.

If we publish your review, your name and review text appear on the site. Your email address is never published — we keep it only to follow up with you or to triage spam and abuse.

Reviews we decide not to publish, and reviews still waiting on us, are kept rather than deleted — mainly so the same spam submission doesn't quietly resurface as "new." Want a published review taken down, or your reviewer data deleted entirely? Emailhello@mississippimakes.shop and we'll handle it the same day.
